Conte likely to sign new bumper deal – after Chelsea win Premier League
Chelsea are confident of agreeing a new contract with head coach Antonio Conte, but could delay an official announcement until after the Premier League title race is settled.
Conte is set to guide runaway leaders Chelsea to the title and could still complete a league and cup double in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are unlikely to do anything to distract attention away from their bid to wrap up the title, but want to reward Conte for his incredible impact since picking up the mess left by former manager Jose Mourinho.
It is expected that Conte will get a new deal that extends his commitment to Chelsea past 2019 and earns him a significant rise to his £6.5million-a-year wages.
Conte admitted last week that his wife and daughter, who are still living in Italy, miss him and Italian reports have linked the former Juventus manager with Inter and AC Milan in recent days.
But, with Conte hoping to move his family to England in the summer, Chelsea are confident the 47-year-old will sign a new deal.
