Iwobi wins African Youth POTY award

Arsenal star Alex Iwobi has been named African Youth Player of the Year for 2016 at the African Player of the Year awards.
The winger enjoyed a stellar 2016 for both club and country, becoming a regular fixture at Arsenal while also impressing for Nigeria.
Iwobi, 20, marked his maiden Premier League start for Arsenal with a goal against Everton in March last year, keeping his place in the first team until the end of the 2015-16 season.
He also netted his first competitive goal for Nigeria in October last year as the Super Eagles downed Zambia 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier.
Iwobi currently has three goals to his name in all competitions for Arsenal so far this term.
His Nigeria team-mate and Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho was also named Most Promising Talent of 2016 at the awards ceremony.
Iheanacho played a role in helping City claim the Capital One Cup last year, scoring two goals in the tournament, while also helping the club finish fourth in the Premier League table.
The striker, 20, has since scored six goals at the start of the current Premier League campaign, while he also found the back of the net four times in six games for Nigeria in 2016.
